Graffiti Art

This project was created for the Minnesota Style Graffiti: Make Vandalism Art exhibition, an art show centered on showcasing graffiti as an authentic form of artistic expression rather than vandalism. The goal was to design a bold visual presentation that captured the raw, unfiltered nature of street art while reframing it within a gallery and exhibition context. The challenge was to balance the chaotic energy of graffiti with intentional design, ensuring the work felt expressive and impactful while still communicating clearly to an audience unfamiliar with graffiti culture.

I developed the visuals by photographing real graffiti sites across Minnesota and curating them into a cohesive composition that emphasized texture, color, and environment. The design process focused on layering vibrant backgrounds, distressed typography, and photographic details to mirror the grit and spontaneity of street art. I handled the project independently, overseeing concept development, photography, image editing, and final layout, resulting in a cohesive exhibition piece that presents graffiti as raw, real, and unapologetically expressive art.
